What’s Our Story?

Chelsea Cafe has been a long-standing fixture in the RTP community. It was founded by David and Rhonda Jones in 2000 and many of their recipes are still used today. Theresa and I purchased the Cafe in February 2020. Between us, we have over 60 years of restaurant experience, from quick service to fine dining. It has always been our goal to one day to have a place of our own. In every position we ever held, quality food and superior service have always been what have made us proud. As far back as I can remember I have been figuring out how to put almost every meal between two pieces of bread. So when we stumbled upon the Chelsea Cafe and saw the great care that was taken, we knew it was the perfect fit for us. We are so excited to invite you to fill your belly and nourish your soul. We are proud to say all our food is purchased locally when possible and made from the best ingredients possible. So stop by, grab a seat, and enjoy.

We’re nestled in the Research Triangle, with access to local farms and the delicious food that comes with them. Making food for you that highlights the flavorful fruits, vegetables, meats, bread, and dairy products of North Carolina is a priority for us - just like the care we take in making sure those foods are locally sourced to cut down on transit times and reduce our carbon footprint so you can feel good about the meal you’re eating.
